A Little Taste of Italy in Spreyton
You could be forgiven for thinking you’ve taken a wrong turn and ended up in Italy. La Villa Wines brings a little old-world charm to Spreyton, with a beautiful Italian-inspired cellar door surrounded by vines and farmland.
Owners Marcus and Gail’s love of Italian food and wine began during their time living in Italy and eventually inspired them to plant a vineyard back home in Tasmania. What started with just 800 vines has grown into a boutique family vineyard producing premium cool-climate wines right here on the North West Coast.
Drop into the cellar door and taste your way through Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, Savagnin and other small-batch releases. The grapes are hand-pruned and hand-picked, with plenty of care going into every bottle.
The cellar door is worth the visit in its own right. Think sweeping archways, terracotta tiles, a bell tower and a warm tasting room that feels more like being welcomed into someone’s Italian home than walking into a winery.
Located at Spreyton, just outside Devonport, La Villa Wines is an easy place to slow down, enjoy a tasting and add a little Italian flavour to your Tasting Trail adventure.
